I was reminded this evening (in one of the psychotherapy groups I conduct) how helpful I find Freud’s concept “Nachträglichkeit”. This is translated in the English Standard Edition as ‘Deferred Action” but Laplanche more helpfully translates it as “apres-coup” or “afterwardsness”.
Group analytic therapy
Group-analytic therapy is the collaborative exploration of relationships as they develop among the members of a group, including the therapist. It offers the opportunity to see ourselves through the eyes of others, and to see ourselves in others. The group creates an environment where we can experiment with ways of being in the world.
